Living without goals is like shooting without a target

How's your aim?

Your thoughts on your future are very important as you are going to spend the rest of your life there. Nobody plans failure. If you were to look at life through the eyes of a twenty five year old, you would view it with great optimism and with the attitude that the world is yours to conquer. In reality, if we were to roll ahead the hands of time, how many would have made a success of their lives and achieved their personal goals? Perhaps,

1 will be wealthy
4 will have all the money they need
5 will still be working
36 will have died
54 will be dependant upon family, friends or some government agency

Why is this? What happened to that great tomorrow all these people were planning? Only 5% of them had clearly defined goals. 95% followed the path of least resistance-"if you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there."

To be among the top 5% you must have written goals

Some rules for establishing goals are:

1. Make up your mind to have a goal
2. Write it out
3. Be specific
4. Be obsessed about accomplishing your goal
5. Make it difficult enough to reach that you must extend yourself to reach it
6. Check up often on your progress
7. If possible keep your goals in sight
8. As soon as you reach your goal repeat the process on the next goal
